Warren Law, LL.B, LL.M (Tax)

Warren Law, LL.B., LL.M. (Tax), has a broad range of experience in the Financial Services industry, with a particular focus on corporate governance issues.

Warren is currently the Senior Vice-President, Corporate Operations and General Counsel of the Canadian Bankers Association.  He also chairs the initiatives of the International Banking Federation in the corporate governance area.  In these roles, he is involved in all of the regulatory issues facing the Financial Services industry today.

Warren is the founding Chair of an Independent Review Committee of a leading mutual fund group.

Rounding out his experiences acting in oversight roles, Warren is a member of the Finance, Investment and Audit Committee of the Canada Health Infoway, a $1.6 billion dollar federally-funded operation in the health care sector. He is a frequent speaker on issues facing the Financial Services industry.

Warren is the former Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of the National Trust group of companies and previously, he had almost 10 years of experience as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance officer of a mutual fund group.  He also served as a General Counsel of a significant life insurance company.

Education: LL.B. and an LL.M. (Tax), Osgoode Hall Law School. Member of the Bar of Ontario.  Completed the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Directors, Rotman School of Business. 2005.He also attended the Commerce and Finance Program at the University of Toronto.
