Lawrence A. Ward, FCA, Director, Independent Review Inc.

Lawrence A. Ward is a chartered accountant who retired as a senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 2003

During his career with the firm, he served in the Toronto, London, Ontario and San Francisco offices. While in the audit practice, he worked extensively with many mutual funds and investment companies. More recently, he worked in the financial advisory practice, specializing in insolvencies and restructurings with significant responsibilities for risk management, independence and business conflict issues, particularly related to Sarbanes-Oxley, the SEC and the independence rules of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Since June 2003 Mr. Ward has acted as a business and financial consultant, specializing in risk management and corporate governance.

He has been active in a number of community organizations including the Sunnybrook Foundation and   the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as well as serving on the boards of many other not-for-profit organizations. He has been instrumental in updating the corporate governance policies of two such organizations.
